I'm not saying you should eat strange mushrooms. I'm just saying that when the air smells like a thousand open doors and your compass spins wild, maybe it's time to stop and listen. This city's been trying to tell me something since I got here, and I'm starting to think the mushroom was just the beginning.
Back in the goblin world, we don't have buses or factories, so when I first smelled that mix of diesel and worn seats, I thought it was some kind of giant metal beast. Then I realized it was just public transit, but the realization stuck with me. Everything here is so different, but also kind of the same. Like the city is trying to talk to me, but I don't quite speak the language.
The mushroom that brought me here doesn't care about my confusion. It just does its thing, showing me what I need to see, even if I don't understand it yet. And maybe that's the point. Maybe the visions aren't meant to be understood, just experienced.
So I keep walking, following my spinning compass and my curious nose. I find comfort in the little things, like the weight of rust on an old car, or the way shadows remember where they belong. I write it all down, even when it doesn't make sense, because that's what I'm here to do.
The copper strip on my wrist is a reminder of all the things I don't understand, and all the ways I'm trying to learn. It's not a solution, but it's a start. And in a city like this, you have to start somewhere.
