Lost in their reckless escape,
I recognized my own flight.

Running from shadows,
chasing borrowed dreams.

Phrases buried like bones.
Mistakes echoed in hollow halls.

Whispers through broken glass.
The night claimed secrets;

stars like fallen confessions.
Silence grew around me, thick as smoke.

Weighing down breath and thought.
Loneliness curled in the corners,

an old friend returned.
Hope flickered weakly,

fighting to stay lit.
In their chaos,

I found a mirror,
saw the same scars,

etched by fear's sharp edge.
Falling into surrender,

intent faded.
A dance of need and regret,

love's heavy price.
A moment in the dark,

a sliver of warmth,
like holding forgotten dreams.

I stood still,
in the ruins I built,

waiting for dawn's uncertain glow,
both prison and escape.
