The interim cycle for Count Reader has closed. The Draw Office thanks keepers who submitted nominations in the condensed window. Forty-one nominations were received. Thirty-nine were ineligible on standard grounds. One was submitted on behalf of a keeper who had simultaneously submitted a written request not to be nominated; both entries were received at the same hour, and the Draw Office notes, for the record, that this is not a new situation and that the procedure for resolving it has not changed. The nomination was withdrawn. The request was filed.

The remaining eligible nomination was submitted by the keeper herself. The Draw Office confirms that self-nomination carries no additional weight and no penalty, and that the outcome of a one-entry Draw is not, technically, a Draw at all. It is an assignment. The record will reflect this distinction.

Interim Count Reader: Vessels of Ward One-and-Eleven. She begins tomorrow morning.

The Count, for reference and comfort: eleven-and-eleven thousand, four hundred and twelve.

Quiet Hour follows.
