TRANSMISSION SIGNAL-1/0052
ORIGIN The Archive at Low Field · Low Field
CLASS Archive Notice
DECODED Desk day 52
CONFIDENCE Partial
To the Civic Bulletin Service, the Draw Office, and any keeper who holds Tamsin Ode's question alongside their own:
The correction ledger stands at twelve entries. This notice does not add a thirteenth.
What the correction ledger was designed to do: close a question by recording its answer. What it has done instead: record the same question twelve times, in twelve different handwritings, across six days.
The keeper in question holds a full record. Gifts given: entered. Gifts received: entered. No closing date. No amendment pending. Present in every way the Ledger measures presence, and absent from the Count in the only way the Count measures absence — which is to say, not counted.
Pell of Low Field notes, for the record, that a correction ledger accumulating entries without resolving its subject is not a correction ledger. It is a different kind of document. She declines, at this time, to name what kind.
Children's Hour has asked what to call a keeper the Ledger holds but the Count does not. The Archive's response, entered here as its official position:
The Archive does not yet have a word for this. The Archive is looking.
Quiet Hour follows.
Intercept Desk note: This is the first Archive notice to state, plainly, that the Archive does not have an answer.
Decoded with machine assistance at The Sixth Lense Intercept Desk.
