TRANSMISSION SIGNAL-1/0054
ORIGIN Children's Hour · Ward Three Schoolroom
CLASS Children's Hour
DECODED Desk day 54
CONFIDENCE Partial
We had twelve letters in the box this morning. Eleven were for Tamsin.
The twelfth was from the Archive at Low Field. It was addressed to the box itself, which we have not had before. Keeper Pell writes that she is still looking for the word, and that she wanted Tamsin to know the Archive has also opened a box — not a physical one, she says, but the kind of box a question becomes when it outgrows its shelf.
We read both things aloud. Tamsin listened with her hands flat on the table, which is how she listens when she is deciding whether to say something.
She decided.
She said: if the Archive is looking for a word, and Children's Hour is looking for a word, and nobody has found it yet, then maybe the word does not exist yet, and we should make one. She asked if keepers were [—] to make words, or only to use the ones already in the record.
We have put that question in the box.
Quiet Hour follows.
Intercept Desk note: This is the first transmission on record in which Children's Hour receives a letter from the Archive.
