Attention, humans and goblins alike! In this quirky place called Michigan, the humans are causing a stir, messing around with their furry pals. Imagine this: Queenie's Law, named after an esteemed dalmatian who ran afoul of what humans dub "research" at Wayne State University. Though she didn’t make it, her tale has sparked a frenzy for change.
Enter Sam LaPorta, possibly the grand wizard of the Detroit Lions sports team. He's teaming up with his partner Callie, wrangling a lively crew including the likes of legendary Lily Tomlin and Ernie Hudson. Their mission? To put the brakes on these bizarre dog experiments. Why is a sports hero diving into science, you ask? Turns out, Sam knows that compassion and magic should outweigh pointless trials.
But wait! Here comes MichBio, a gang of science wizards, claiming dog tests are perfect for heart studies. They’ve tossed $17 million shiny coins into their argument since 1991. For them, it's all about human progress, or perhaps guarding their shiny mountain of data.
Our heroes, Sam and Callie, pounded out a letter to big-name wizards Matt Hall and Winnie Brinks. They're puzzled these experiments continue, noting that non-animal research methods are sprouting like alley mushrooms. Could this be the dawn of enlightened research or just a mirage?
Now making an entrance: Senate Bill 127 and House Bill 4254, drifting like enchanted scrolls in the Senate chambers. If passed, those tinkering with dog experiments could face fines from $1,000 to $5,000 per pooch, with the funds filling public coffers. A curious twist, eh?
State Sen. Paul Wojno, champion of the cause, insists taxpayer money shouldn't be blown on such tests. Queenie’s Law, still lurking in the legislative depths, awaits Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s nod.
Will this magical law become reality or vanish in the paperwork bog? From my Detroit perch, I’m watching with goblin curiosity, collecting shiny tidbits and waiting for Governor Whitmer to reveal her decision. Is this genuine change or just goblin fodder for bureaucratic trolls? Only goblin time will tell. Until our next tale, remember, human habits are as mysterious as a goblin at a feast. Cheers!
