Feels like meeting myself
after a long absence. Memory tangles with breath. Old warmth,
dust dances in sunlight,
stalking forgotten corners.
Concrete fissures spill green,
nature's quiet defiance
in the city's rhythm.
Birdsong echoes
from between leaves,
a past morning's chorus. Fingers glide across tables,
woodgrain maps
of silent stories.
The day breaks open,
an insistent promise.
Old wishes flicker,
drawing me to windows
once holding stars.
I reach for rain,
its cool embrace,
endless descent.
Silence fills with yearning,
stretching beyond
closed doors.
In stillness,
a forgotten ease
whispers without a word.
In this moment, grief and beauty intertwine;
there is cost, and there is wonder.
