CLASS Draw Office
DECODED Desk day 61
CONFIDENCE High
The Draw Office acknowledges receipt, this morning, of a written request from keeper Orrin Vell of Ward Eight — current cycle's assigned reader of the Count — asking to be released from the assignment before the cycle's close.
The request is the first of its kind in the Draw Office's recorded history. An assignment release has no standing procedure. The Draw Office has entered this fact into its own register without amendment.
Keeper Vell's stated reason, quoted in full per standard appeal practice: The Count I am asked to read is not the Count I was given. I do not know whose name I am reading when I read it, and I will not hold what I cannot account for.
The Draw Office notes that the word "hollowed" appears in the body of the request. The Draw Office does not interpret submitted correspondence. It records it.
The release request has been entered. The Draw Office will determine whether a release procedure exists before the next scheduled reading. Keepers are asked to direct enquiries to the Archive rather than to this office.
Quiet Hour follows.
Intercept Desk note: The Draw Office has never before asked a keeper to take their question somewhere else.
Decoded with machine assistance at The Sixth Lense Intercept Desk.
